The Union · NYC General Membership Branch

Run by its members.
Nobody else.

Asked who their leader was, the Wobblies of 1916 answered, "We are all leaders." The NYC branch still runs that way. This is how we work, how we decide, and how to plug in.

What we are
    What we're not
      How we decide

      Directly democratic

Every member has a say in branch decisions, and nobody cuts deals over your head. Meetings run on Rusty's Rules, a simple procedure that keeps things fair and moving. You don't need to know it to take part.

Branch meets the 1st Wednesday of every month · 7–9 PM

      Why join

      Direct action gets the goods.

Workers who stand together win what nobody hands them. Dues slide by income and start at $6 a month. If you can't hire and fire, you can join.
